Red Hat Launches Enterprise Linux for SAP HANA in AWS

Red Hat Inc. placed Red Hat Enterprise Linux For SAP HANA on Amazon Web Services Inc. (AWS), to offer more options for Big Data workloads.
SAP claims HANA combines database and application platform technologies to create a platform that leverages in memory computing for analytics and other operations. According to SAP, the system delivers performance benefits by removing the division between transaction and analytics.
SAP claims that innovation with Big Data is easier and more efficient when you combine predictive analytics, spatial processing, and data virtualization in the same architecture.
SAP and Red Hat collaborated to optimize Red Hat’s popular enterprise Linux offering in order to meet the requirements of HANA, simplify deployment, and to improve its performance.
With the AWS hosted service, deployment is much easier.
Red Hat released a statement last week saying that this listing in the AWS Marketplace gives customers additional deployment options for Big Data workloads. Red Hat Enterprise Linux is now available to customers. Customers can also use their subscriptions to deploy to AWS with Red Hat Cloud Access to Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform and JBoss Enterprise Web Server. OpenShift by Red Hat, Red Hat Gluster Storage, and Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Web Server.
